jodone can the marks on the back be cleaned with a wet towel or is the leather scratched? the measurements you have seen to small for a laptop.

chicologie @jodone it’s damage to the finish/dye. I think it could be fixed, it was on my to-do list while I was using it regularly but I never took it to a cobbler. It’s an almost exact fit for a 14” laptop, a little sticks out on the top when you set it down because the suede is slouchy.
