hi. an IT 40 is a US 4. I didn't want you to have any issues. Marni only sizes in Italian, not European. it's tricky bc France, Italy, Britian and Denmark all size differently and none correspond with European sizes. It always goes by the origin of the designer and where the predominant fashion house is located, which doesn't always correlate with where the actual piece was made.
