Rochas Fall 2003 Ready-to-Wear collection was designed by Olivier Theyskens, a young Belgian designer who made his debut at Rochas. This couture masterpiece, worn by Caitriona Balfe, of Outlander, is Look 35 of 40. The collection was inspired by the elegance of 1950s Parisian fashion and redefined the romance of the suit, cocktail dress, and grand evening gown in exquisite couture-grade materials. The collection featured magical constructions of black Chantilly lace, pink and white taffeta, satin, and tulle, melded into shapes and volumes with a dual impact: a respect for the past and the forceful confidence of youth. Purchased at Barneys New York in 2004 and worn only for my wedding reception. Intended to wear again but never did. Has since been stored in a garment bag.
