This Maticevski 'Leander' crepe gown has a stunning strapless silhouette with architectural draping along the corseted bodice and skirt. The overall effect is an avant-garde, yet refreshing take on a modern wedding gown. The composition is: 100% polyester; Lining: 93% silk, 7% elastane. Also as seen on Chrissy Teigen!
I wore this dress for my city hall wedding ceremony. It is size AU 8 which the brand says is a US 4 equivalent, and has minor alterations:
- taken in at the bust to size 32A, but this can be reversed according to my seamstress (just remove the elastic along the top; see pic)
- switched out the silver zipper to an invisible zipper (I thought it looked sleeker this way)
- closed up the slit slightly to start at the knee rather than mid-thigh (the original slit was too high for my comfort)
Professionally dry cleaned. I hadn’t opened the bag since it came back from the cleaners, and only just noticed that there are two very faint spots about 10 inches from the hem (see pic). Not noticeable IMO but mentioning for full disclosure.
Current measurements:
Bust: 14" across (altered, but can be reversed by removing elastic band)
Waist: 12.5" across (unaltered from original)
Hip/widest part: 16" across (unaltered from original)
Length: 49" (unaltered from original)
Please ask any questions, or let me know if you want more photos. I hope this lovely dress goes to a good home and that it brings someone else as much joy as it did for me!

Is the slit able to be reversed as well?

@shemphill12 Hi! Yes, the slit can be opened back up. You’d just have to undo the seam.

@pickleposse Thank you! Just one more question: if I open up the slit, will the bottom of the dress take its asymmetric shape back? I can see it looks slightly different on the "website photos" compared to yours. Could you please take a photo of the bottom in the way it is right now? Many thanks!!

@elebedina hi! Just added pics at the end (after stock pics). It’s kind of hard to see, but the way my seamstress closed the slit, she “raised” it to close it up, which made it less asymmetrical like you noticed. I added a pic that shows the original seam line (tracks are faintly there so you could sew back to the original).

@elebedina (cont.) If you open up the slot again, you would open up the angle and it would become asymmetrical again if you get what I mean. I hadn’t opened this since I got it back from the cleaners and when I took it out just now to take the new pics, I saw two faint spots about 10” from the hem (see pics)—not noticeable when worn imo, but sharing for full disclosure
