mythrinamigje I've only been polishing since last November and I can't begin to tell you how many wonderful ladies that I have met it is an awesome group of people maybe someday I could meet when we are here in Florida with a group like that, that would be too cool. 😊

kitycatt @mythrinamigje hey doll.. im looking for a faceting machine to buy as we speak but what would your suggestions be as to doing which first... the gold forming & molding of jewelry making or the gem faceting? i value your opinion hun and i appreciate everything uve told me so far

moemoe2013 Your daughter looks so much like you. Great looking family. I'd go to a posh meet but I'm on other side of the states. Oregon to Florida is a long trip to go shopping. mythrinamigje Hi I go to bed early so I didn't get your question that is a hard decision that's like apples and oranges the faceting is a big investment especially if you get one of the high-end machines you can do marvelous things with it but unless you plan on faceting a lot it's a very expensive hobby sometimes you can find them as a used machine which is not a bad thing rock clubs sometimes have owners who are not doing it anymore and they want to sell their machines. I did it at the club as a fun learning thing but you are going to be making jewelry so you need to also about what you want to fashion and that's what I would like to do is make a one-of-a-kind rings or pendants with the metal clay or whatever method and you need to decide if you're going to be using faceted stones in your jewelryor if you're going to be making cabochons and setting them into the jewelry there is there a magazine go into Barnes & Noble or whoever and there is magazines on jewelry making that can give you some really good ideas as to where you'd like to go with your ideas. I subscribe to rock and Jim magazine and I love the ideas that they have but then this is more about the Jim's minerals that you can go find the artisan one is called jewelry arts lapidary journal had a Merry metals lost wax casting what kind of machine is right for you I wish we could get together I could touch you look at this magazine this is right what you need this is truly for the artists and so this would be a very good magazine for you to look up

kitycatt i have been looking for books and mags.. i want tondo faceted stones.. maybe once in a while ill use cabachons but i dont like them all that much lol i prefer the "pretty" ones that really sparkle.. i know all the cuts and im going to go for it.. im doin the faceting class.. one in ohio where igs a week long and i need my own machine.. then im going to do a metalwork. goþa me a silversmith II to do gold in the 1st place.. i know im gona love this.. its been my dream since i first got a piece of jewelry as a kid lol maybe we will bimp into one another
