glimmergirl61 Hello Elizabeth! Nice to meet you! When I saw that you had liked one of my items (and thank you for shopping my closet!), I couldn’t help but notice that you are an opera singer! I used to be, as well, at one time. It used to be my career aspiration. But my cords were damaged in a surgery & barring a miracle, I’ll never sing again. But I will in heaven! What type of voice do you have? What operas are your favorites? 🌷💕

operalady @glimmergirl61 No way! That’s awesome! I’m a mezzo and I LOVE Werther. It sits so well with my voice- makes me feel like a mezzo power house! Maria Stuarda by Donizetti is one of my favorites (even though mezzos don’t get a lot of love) because the music is just beautiful. That choral prayer scene gives me chills every time!!!!!

glimmergirl61 @operalady Wow, I’m not familiar with that one! But it sure sounds exquisite! I was a lyric spinto soprano, so during my grad school training, since I needed a complete overhaul from the ground up, I concentrated a lot on coloratura literature. The Abduction From The Seraglio by Mozart was my fav back then..and ANYTHING that Edita Gruberova (Czechoslovakian coloratura) sang, I would try to emulate! She is my favorite soprano of all time! Why don’t you sing anymore?

glimmergirl61 @operalady And yes, when you’ve invested your entire life in something, it’s like having part of your soul ripped out when it is taken away. The music that I miss singing the most, out of all, is praise and worship. Did church music directing for many years.
