ama6224 @monicaueshima ok no problem. I had 2 local jewelers use a 10x scope on a paid appraisal and they both concluded 1/5 ct. Feel free to have it checked out. If you’re satisfied with the ring but just not the price, maybe we could negotiate the difference 3rd party. Otherwise I guess you could send it back to posh and have them prove it’s not 1/5 ct. which could be possible but I was informed otherwise. Sorry for your troubles and lmk how you’d like to move forward.

ama6224 @monicaueshima well in your opinion based off your knowledge of looking at diamonds and putting a ct. weight on them, what do you think a fair price for the ring is? I was told by my confidants, who are professionals, that the ring, being resold, private seller to private buyer, shouldn’t have gone for less than $300 and no more than $500.

ama6224 @monicaueshima To get a full, actual appraisal, as I did, you’re jeweler would have to remove and then reset the stones, or have technology that most jewelers do not possess (to get the weight without a full reset) so if you have a price in mind, maybe I could send the difference that we agree on thru ven Ⓜ️🅾️

monicaueshima @joeywagner21 Honestly around 150 max, it could easily go for 350-500 on a jewelry store but no where near that private seller to private seller. My friends family owns a jewelry store so I’m going to take it there. Just because the smaller the diamonds are the less valuable it brings the face value of the ring way down. So the bigger the diamonds on a ring the rarer the ring so it gets exponentially pricier.

ama6224 A widely renowned, regional jeweler, in my area, offered $150 on the nose, to me. That’s me selling to a jewelry store who has to then refurbish, price it, and ultimately sell it which costs $$. That’s why I was skeptical selling at 220 cuz with fees that’s only $25 over what I would’ve got cash from the store... no hard feelings, I have no intentions of sounding hostile at all. Would just like to find a solution. Sorry again if you feel mislead in any part of this endeavor.

ama6224 @monicaueshima the caveat here is that we both may have our own opinions on what we believe the ct. count is on the ring. I would not have listed it the way I had if I felt otherwise. It’s really a matter of if you still want it at maybe a more fair price, or you’d like to return it, which you may or may not have a problem doing through posh. I’m entirely okay with whatever decision you come to and hopefully something can be worked out.
