Meet your Posher, Morgan

I’m Morgan, and I paint possums. That is to say, I paint pictures of possums…I don’t paint directly ON possums. Although, if given non-toxic paint – and a chill possum – I’d probably give it a try. I was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky, the folk art capital of the Appalachians. I fell in love with painting in my teen years, and (along with poetry and music) used it as a way to make sense of the world around me. My home is a stark mixture of stunning beauty and horrendous tragedy – the type of place that leads a person to dream up the kinds of creatures I create. My animals represent the often ornery, sometimes sympathetic, and too-often terrible characters that orbited around me during my formative years.
