Hi! I'm Sarah. When my family started our total house renovation, almost entirely DIY, we had trouble finding things that we liked in the patterns and styles we wanted. I do make them, but right now all those have been given away as gifts to friends/family or are in use at my house. Is there a particular size, color scheme, or pattern you are looking for? I would definitely consider making and posting more regular quilts if there was interest.

snugglestitches Another item I make, but don’t have any posted right now is quilted reversible blankets. There’s no batting (the cotton layer in the middle) but both sides are pieced with flannel (for warmth and softness) and then quilted to add texture and visual interest.

denise1437 @snugglestitches yes. a queen or king size, blues, whites, kinda like the wedding pattern if that helps. how much would it be? i hate store bought. their so cheaply made and expensive for cheap quality. my sewing machine was given away yrs ago. i do not have the time or patience to mk another one. my youngest son took the last one i made. god bless

snugglestitches @denise1437 A basic wedding quilt with either 6” or 8” squares, made with 100% cotton for top and backing and cotton batting in queen size (approximately 90”x108”) would be $225. I think it would be pretty with white scares with blue accents, blue with black and/or white accents, and black squares with a blue and white print. If you mean a wedding ring quilt, I wouldn’t really know how to price that because it would be so time consuming.

I was thinking the first three for the squares, and one of the three turquoise prints for the backing and binding. I like the first turquoise print best myself, but I think they would all look good. snugglestitches @mamamarcella Thanks for looking in my closet! I am currently working on a big project so it’s taking me longer to get the next thing posted. The scrappy quilts are a lot of fun to make, but if your making a true scrap quilt, it sometimes take a long time to collect enough scraps to make the quilt. I’m working on collecting enough scraps to make a more boyish version of the scrappy strip quilt. My grandmother was a quilter and made lots of quilts. I still have several of them.

snugglestitches @qkagirl0367 Happy Easter to you as well. I can definitely do a full size rag quilt in flannel for you. Price would depend on a few things... two layers of flannel or three? Also, take a look at some of my other quilts for sale to see what type pattern/design you want as far as simple squares, the scrappy strip quilt style, simple strips (like the one with the owls), something like the one with mostly blue and turtles, or a pattern like the one with the watermelons that sold already.

qkagirl0367 @snugglestitches he said he likes green, blue and red and that would match his sleeping bag🤣 he would like 3 layer and he said whatever is easiest for you as far as the style. He wants one for warmth and it remind him of his grandma.

snugglestitches @qkagirl0367 Ok. So for the three layers of flannel, full size quilt, it would be $200. To remind him of his Grandma, I think the traditional squares with the x quilted on them would make him happiest. I would do a repeating pattern of blue, red, and green squares. They would be 8x10 squares of approximately 10” (after the 1/2 frayed seam). Starting would be 80”x90” but first was would give a few inches of shrinkage.

Now as far as matching the sleeping bag, can u make a not for sale listing with a photo of that and tag me on it so I have an idea of what prints and shades to give him to choose from?

I think a darker blue like denim, a mid tone green like a leaf and red. He’s good with everything else. Do you make a listing and I pay now?

I have two orders I have to finish up this month, then I will start on yours. Once I get started, it will take me about a week to make. I will make a listing to show you the colors I pick for you to approve at some point tonight, then I will get the fabrics. Do u think he would want solid colors or prints?

snugglestitches @aftonlinton07 I don’t have any made at the moment but I do have some flannels in gender neutral greens that I could get made into a rag quilt, or regular quilt for you. I have a few I am working on next week, but could probably start on it about a week from now and have it finished in a day or so, depending on the pattern you choose.

snugglestitches @aftonlinton07 they are pretty and definitely unique. If you don’t like flannel, I can do a ragged edge quilt with cotton batting. It still gives you the pretty fray. For a cotton rag quilt with the batting, I would do what would be about 6” squares with the traditional “x”. The listing I have with the nautical theme has this “x” if you need an example. Give me about five minutes, and I am posting some fabric selections on a separate not for sale listing for you to check out.

sherden1205 I have four throw pillows that I want to re-cover. They r 12” by 12”. They are.pretty but fabric is silky and I hate it! Do you do that? I want something abstract. First please let me know. Sherry

snugglestitches @sherden1205 I could definitely may you some pillow covers for 12”x12” pillows. As far as abstract, I have been wanting to do something abstract with some stripes that aren’t evenly spaced if that is something that you are interested in. If not, just let me what type designs you have in mind. Depending on the pillow, it may be easiest to just put the new covers over the old. We’re you wanting something washable like cottons or upholstery fabrics, and what colors are you interested in?

snugglestitches @sherden1205 so maybe something with a rougher texture like upholstery fabric - typically dry clean only. Canvas or duck fabric (a tighter weave of canvas) - these are cotton but are stiffer and a rougher texture than like what you would find in say a quilt.

snugglestitches @sherden1205 Canvas and cotton ducks can be machine washed, but I’d still recommend dry cleaning them because of the amount of wrinkling and also it would soften the texture and I would think probably increase the slipping around on you couch factor. Do any of those sound good?

sherden1205 @snugglestitches I don’t want cotton or duck. Upholstery fabric like black backing, colors on front fuchsia, cobalt blue, GOLD and maybe crystals or rhinestones and a small amount of grape. Does that help? Oh absolutely no patch work.

snugglestitches @sherden1205 sorry just now responding, busy weekend... so without piecing the pillow covers, I think the best way to include all the colors you like would be to use solid black upholstery fabric and use the threads in a tight zigzag stitch (similar to an appliqué stitch) in the four colors you wanted. This type stitch should make the lines large enough that you can see each color well. I could incorporate the rhinestones in by putting them at the parts where the threads intersect.

snugglestitches @sherden1205 do you have a price range in mind? I say that because upholstery fabric can be pretty expensive sometimes, and I will need to keep that in mind when looking for fabrics. I have mostly worked with cotton upholstery fabrics, so since I will be looking for non cotton, I would prefer to stick with fabrics I can buy in store rather than ordering, so I can be sure I’m getting the texture I’m looking for.

snugglestitches @sherden1205 if you like microfiber and are ok with the type microfiber that is used in bed sheets, I can tell you that the costs would be WAY lower for that than upholstery fabrics. It would not be the silky texture microfiber because I know you said you don’t like silk. I would still need to research the cost of the embellishments before getting you a price quote, but let me k ow if you are interested in that.

snugglestitches @introvertedyarn how long it takes depends on the size of the quilt and the size of the squares/pieces. The strip quilt typically take less time to clip because less amount of raw edges. Buff squares take less time to clip too for the same reason. The baby quilts with the squares only can usually come together in a day or two but every quilt is a little different.

I’ve been doing it for a little over five years now, I started when I was around 10 or so Each item is different, the gloves take about 2:30 hours to do The octopus hat usually takes 13-9 hours The dragon can take 9-7 hours The yoda takes 3-4 hours I also have a dragon hoodie that I made but have yet to post and the first one I did took 27 hours Yup! I was the same with having crooked rows in the beginning lol

Sorry it took so long to get back with on the price; I’ve been working on a lot of orders lately... since you said you liked microfiber, this quote will include black microfiber for front and back of pillows. This will be the type used in bed sheets, not the shiny stuff, since you said you didn’t like silk it will have an appearance like cotton bed sheets but be microfiber. (More info coming in next post)

snugglestitches @sherden1205 I will use the thread in a tight appliqué type stitch to make the designs and give you the colors you requested. I will use the black burp cloth you referred to to get the colors for the pink and purple thread. Would you like the gold and cobalt blue thread as well? Also, I found some thread recently that was shiny and looked like spun gold, would that be something you would like? (More in next)

snugglestitches @sherden1205 I would add some sew on clear rhinestones since I feel more comfortable about them staying on than if they were glued on. Would you like the pillows to all have different designs but keep with the same color scheme, or all be pretty much the same? I was thinking spirals, square outlines, intersections, and some maybe starburstish for the designs. With all I just said would be four 12x12 pillow covers with envelope opening on back for $75. snugglestitches @sherden1205 Using upholstery fabrics would be an option too but would increase the cost as those are so much more expensive due to the higher cost of fabric. If you want a 1” flange to each pillow I can add that in as well, but that will be up to you depending on how you want the pillow to look. (Last amount coming)

nananellasrooms That T-shirt quilt was only supposed to be a lap quilt originally but he had so many shirts I felt bad not using all of them lol, so it ended up being queen size 😳😁. No I didn’t make the coat that’s actually a pic from Pinterest. My dog is the cute black one. That bookshelf is a 3dimensional quilt with the flowers and vines sticking out as well as the various page markers. That one was really fun. I see material than getting an idea of the pattern I want to make
