So is Sean with SOS shapes. I saw that the film is opening the Maui Film Festival this year- so happy she is getting her story told! They are building a new highway to the airport behind all the stores on dairy rd- and drumroll- we now have a Target. Opened this month.

kstarmaui @tammysbeachwear yes-that side of the island and Westside has grown a lot. Less so on the north shore where I live- though Paia is expanding some. Upcountry still pretty rural too. The highway will actually be a good thing- especially in terms of traffic downtown. Kahului is nothing pretty to look at anyway.....

Trucker is okay- he and his mom are on island for a couple weeks right now- I think that the next phase of his treatment is stalled because his liver cannot tolerate the treatment. But I have seen them at the beach and they look happy and glad the family is together. They are doing a big push for positive thinking but i think it's too hard to tell- i am sure you know the whole journey better than most. 💕❤️

azurebluecanary I haven't been back to Maui since I left in '87 but I've heard it has grown a lot is is more commercialized. I lived in Maui Meadow and worked in Wailiku and there wasn't a lot of traffic then. I liked driving through the cane fields. I remember when the first fast food place opened and it was a huge deal. There was no shopping mall. Lol. Can you imagine! I loved the climate, flowers, fresh fruit directly from the trees. You lucky you live in Paradise! 🌺🌷💐🌺🌷💐🌺🌷💐🌺

kstarmaui @vbolivia hi! 🌸🌿🌈🌤 that is exciting you are coming to Maui! There is so much to do here. I would rent stand up paddles or kayaks and go out near Oluwalu (on hwy into Lahaina) where there is beautiful reef. Would do a snorkel boat- they are super fun and worth the money. I think all of them are good- your hotel might have a discounted rate with one of the boats- I would ask. If you like zipline Piiholo ranch upcountry is great and will show you a different side of the island.

kstarmaui @vbolivia @vbolivia hi! 🌸🌿🌈🌤 I would drive to Hana on the north and east shore. It is a curvy slow drive but there are so many waterfalls and beautiful hikes along the way. Take your time. It is a wild rainforest part of the island and so much to see. Get the guidebook called Maui Revealed- Costco will have it - it will show you where some more hidden spots are to hike and find waterfalls.

kstarmaui @vbolivia hike up the volcano Haleakala - would not bother with sunrise jazz- you have to schedule it and I think it's just as pretty any time of day. Bring a jacket because it's usually cold and windy up there.

kstarmaui @vbolivia if you want good fancy meal- Mamas Fish House on northshore will be around $60 per person but is incredible and amazing location and ambiance- have to make reservations. Flat bread pizza in Paia for chill atmosphere and good drinks and pizza. Tin Roof in Kahului is open only from 10:00 till 2:00 I think- its very affordable and is owned and run by famous chef Sheldon Simeon. I don't know that many west side restaurants - I live and eat on the north shore.

kstarmaui @vbolivia Foe nightlife grab a free Maui Time magazine when you get here (they are all over the place) and check out the entertainment section. Fleetwoods in Lahaina has good live music and Charlie's in Paia also gets good live music. Maui Arts and Cultural Center has some cool bigger venue shows. There might be something interesting while you are here 💕❤ if you have questions when you get here let me know 🌈

kstarmaui @vbolivia most of the waterfalls are on the road to Hana - I live right near twin falls. It is before the road to Hana gets windy. It is okay but usually super crowded and touristy this time of year. Not the best waterfall. If you go To twin falls don't leave anything in your car. Notorious place for things getting stolen.

kstarmaui @vbolivia and yes, Hana is all day thing for sure. But you could go part way to one of the other waterfall spots and not be in the car for so long. There is a bamboo forest with 4 waterfalls- Each you have to hike further to- and there Will be less people. I can't remember the mile marker but you can find in book and there are usually cars on side of road. It's right before the "painted trees". That doesn't take too long to get to and is pretty- maybe 20 minutes to half hour from twin falls.

kstarmaui @vbolivia I like the piiholo zipline because you will see a part of Maui you wouldn't otherwise see. But the Kapalua one is good too- especially if you guys don't want to drive much. It is super hot on that side of the island right now and it might feel good to get in the cooler upcountry forest area. Just depends what you're in the mood for.

I bet my hotel will have deals on those, I know they keep spots open for hotels to sell. A lot of people don't book last minute until after they arrive anyway! Hopefully one will be available. kstarmaui @mikala2u2 hi! 😊 It depends on the year. If it is 2017/2018 and/or mesh you could probably wear a medium if you are on the shorter side. If taller, I would get a large. Last year 2019 I would say a large whether you are taller or shorter. I haven’t tried the 2020’s yet, but judging from the other 2020 one prices I have tried they fit more like the earlier Acacia. Because of a change in fabrication, last year everything fit super small but it seems to have gone back. Hope that helps! 💕❤️

kstarmaui @mikala2u2 sorry I just realized it is you! The Kokomo is not that supportive. It is fine for lounging but not a lot of activity. The print you are talking about is from 2019. I found that unless I get a medium in that style- it’s too long and doesn’t give me any support at all. You are same height as me and measurements so probably will be same for you. 🌸🌿

kstarmaui @mikala2u2 HI! 2019 Mombasa (Retro Paradise falls into this category) is cotton/silk blend and fits more like a shirt than a coverup dress - it was shortened from previous years. 2018 and earlier are Rayon, longer, and make great cover ups. 2020 are back to the longer version (no one liked the shorter) and are made of a really nice feeling Tencel and make good cover ups. So in a nutshell, stay away from 2019 Mombasa for anything more than an oversized shirt. Hope that helps!

kstarmaui @mikala2u2 Acacia tops are kind of hard for me to wear. Most of them are smallish. Even the XL’s are small. The Manhattan and Geneva style with underwire fit me in XL (I am 36D and in my 50’s) The one they started making last year which fits me the best and is my favorite is called Rhodes. I can wear large or extra large. Bottoms I like more coverage so wear boy short style Duke bottoms and high waisted G-land and Queens bottoms size both large and extra large.

kstarmaui @mikala2u2 Hi! The Acacia Sunset does not give much support and I think is better on taller frame. The straps from shoulder to bust are very long. It didn't fit me - the large was too long in shoulders/bust and the medium was still a little long and didn't give enough coverage in the bust. The mesh suits in general fit bigger- probably because they have more give. I would go for mediums in the mesh.
