Hi girls, I'm Jenine. I'm a fashion photographer and fashion design student. I make stuff to feed my terrible shoe addiction. I also sell items from my own closet as well as clothing I use to style my photoshoots. The last photo is my designs for my junior collection last year. This year is my senior year and I'm planning to make my collection spectacular! ๐Ÿ˜Š

ahmanduuh Yay! Another fashion student! (: I'm a fashion student too! (but my things are more wearable sculpture-esque) What school are you from? ๐Ÿ˜

jenine @ahmanduuh hi! Yay!! I go to woodbury university. What about you? And what kind of stuff do you make?

ahmanduuh
ahmanduuh The school of the art institute of Chicago! (It's be one affiliated with the museum not the art institutes) And um I mostly focus on how sculpture influences the body so I've been using a lot of plexiglass and other nontraditional clothing media What sorts of things do you focus on?

jenine @ahmanduuh omg that was one of the schools I was looking to transfer to last year! I loved the student work but I just couldn't leave California and sunshine everyday lol. Our work is nothing compared to yours though, we just do RTW and everything is very LA (from street wear to evening) since we're working around the LA fashion industry. What you're doing sounds so cool. I've never worked with unconventional materials before. I'd love to see your work sometime!

ahmanduuh I know! I'm actually from Orange County originally and leaving the heat was such a change. And yeah I totally know what you mean. This is literally the most conceptual school on the nation so a lot of my work isn't really wearable on the daily. But yeah! Id love to see some more of your work too!

peggyscloset I'd rather not say over the internet lol but I love my school's program! This fall will be my junior year! I've learned so much and how clothes are created! I also love illustrating croquis, they're so fun! Your illustrations are beautiful btw! Also love your designs! Is that a photo of your collection in the fourth picture?

jenine
jenine @peggyscloset illustration is sort of my weakness. I love creating clothes instead ๐Ÿ˜› and yes it is! Some of the pieces were redesigned from the original sketches

jenine @peggyscloset you're so sweet! โ˜บ๏ธ I have to try extra hard to make my illustrations work lol. But when it comes to sewing and draping/patterning it comes naturally and I am happier haha. My courses are intense and I cry at least once a semester.. Well everyone does. What about you? What is your school like and what have you done so far?
Jun 07Reply
peggyscloset
peggyscloset Yup same here. The courses are very intense and take a lot of time. Lots of all nighters aha but the feeling of accomplishment is worth it! I've taken fashion illustration, fashion digital design courses, sewing, and pattern making. Also lots of product development courses. I have yet to take draping this fall which I am super excited for! :)
