Memphis-inspired 21" hand-blown art-glass vase, orange/purple made in Poland

Inspired by Memphis Design stye of 1980s This 21 inch vase was handblown in Poland. It combines bright orange, deep purple and a base swirled in brown. The ball between the base and the vessel part of the vase is deep purple. The interior is 16 inches deep. The top diameter is about six inches. Whether you are all out Memphis or just like an isolated pop of color, this vase will do it for you. Brightly lit against a dark background, it glows. Picture this with a bunch of sunflowers punctuated by with purple loosestrife. The iconic Memphis Design movement lasted from 1980 through 1987, though it never disappeared and is making a comeback. Memphis Design featured both sharp angles and amorphous shapes, as well as vivid colors. The Italian designers behing the style were rebelling against the minimalist, all white interiors of the time -- what they called "Less is Bore." A room designed in Memphis style had the look of a playhouse, with bright and contrasting colors, geometric shapes, strong patterns and abstract forms.
