@joeymeuser you can put protective plates in there to defend against knives or road rash if you go down on your bike, or (95% sure) you could put ballistic plates in it to make it bullet resistant and or bullet proof.

@siktat2 after receiving it it doesn’t have the structure for either of those, best guess is it’s to be able to properly sew patches to the leather instead of going through the lining.
