Has not been polished or cleaned. Stamp at bottom back STERLING” A bold vintage vermeil sterling combination pin and pendant produced by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The design was reproduced from the center section of a Byzantine hanging lamp holder. The piece has a lightly pebbled surface, it is a light gold color. It has traditional pin findings and pendant loop. Measures 2.25" by 2", total weight is 22.5 grams. Perfect for a reenactment piece or for closing a cloak or sweater. Excellent condition, no damage or visible wear. Signed MMA Sterling on the back. A great ancient design replicated by the MMA.
