Metropolitan View Made in Italy 100% Virgin Wool Pullover Sweater Size XL 60’s

Metropolitan View Vintage Made in Italy 100% Virgin Wool Pullover Sweater. The front of the sweater has a cable knit look; the sleeves and back are plain (no pattern) with a cinched waistline. This sweater has seen better days. It has several holes as pointed out (a snag to the front, 2 small holes to the front, right sleeve hole by the wrist, hole on the left back upper arm near the shoulder captured in 2 pictures, hole by the back waistline, hole under right underarm). The size tag reads XL, this seems too small to be an extra large so please review the measurements provided. Tag has a WPL#10167 so pre 1959. I am hoping someone can re-purpose this, maybe a cutter fabric for another piece.
