aidacoronado @xenadogprincess thanks for your continued business! today I was also asked if wearing them is cultural appropiation which I believe is not when done with the same respect Indigenous pieces are made and not reproducing their art, as Indigenous communities work their best doing hand embroidery and we must see it as art, and a piece os history of our humanity.

xenadogprincess @aidacoronado I totally agree - I am an artist myself and because of that I have held in deep reverence items that are hand-made. My grandmother made quilts- blankets to keep the family warm throughout the years, and then passed on for more generations to keep warm.

xenadogprincess @aidacoronado also ( my post is lengthy ) These days, people think nothing of going to Wally Store and buying blankets for $50 and using them for perhaps a year, and then tossing them into the trash rather then wash it and preserve it, or even worse, donate it to a thrift store all dirty and soiled.

aidacoronado @xenadogprincess thanks for sharing! making patchwork blankets is a tradition I admire. My great grandmother used to make some and made clothing too, to help around her household. Cotton is also important for Mexico, to help with the development of the country, in thr textile industry is used just a little. I hope all those blankets go to people who needs them, there is a culture of disposable things, but for me things should last forever.
