Mid Century Jeannette Hellenic Wedgewood Blue Tumblers Glasses - Set of 8 - EXC

True mid-century gems, this is a set of eight tumblers by Jeanette in its very popular Hellenic Blue, which is a soft Wedgewood blue, manufactured in the 1960s. These are pressed glass, made in the US and feature a blue band decal with Greco – Roman pastoral scenes of trees, columns, and toga-clad ladies and gents. They were trimmed with a metallic gold rim, which shows some wear consistent with age. There’s a stray gold fleck on one and a pink mark on another that I didn’t want to scrub too vigorously! Please see the photos. Otherwise these are mint – the decal is soft and vibrant, free from dishwasher damage, and there are no scratches or flea bites. Each measures 5” tall and 2 7/8” wide, and has a 10oz capacity. They are great water glasses, but would also be cool highballs for the bar set up in a Deco or Hollywood Regency–inspired home, traditional, coastal, or cottage decor. The pretty sophisticated style of these glasses graced many mid century homes and deserves discovery by a new generation!
