Mid century Stratton powder compact with enamelled floral and butterfly design

A handsome powder compact with enamelled flowers and butterfly design. Made in England CONDITION: good vintage condition with acceptable wear for age SIZE: 3½ ins diameter (9 cm) APPROXIMATE DATE: mid century MATERIALS: metal, glass, enamel DESCRIPTION: This handsome Stratton of England compact has a brass foundation. The lid is made from brass with a white enamel ground decorated with a design of flowers and a butterfly. The back of the case is stamped with the name of the maker, Stratton. Inside the lid are a mirror and a flip up compartment for powder. The hinge is not loose and the closure snaps shut and works well.
