The Minolta Hi-Matic S was introduced in 1978 and was the first of the Hi-Matic line to include an integrated flash. The S also started a pivot by Minolta taking the Hi-Matic line from the 7SII at the high point and moving to lower quality zone focus cameras that finally end with the Hi-Matic GF.
The Hi-Matic S also came as the Hi-Matic SD that included a date imprint option. Focus is classic zone focus with Icons, feet and meters all shown on the lens. The flash pops up for use and everything runs off two AA batteries. The body is light but not especially small (actually larger than the 7SII and older Hi-Matics.

Has this been tested with film?

@kdepadua86 it has not but mechanically all seems to function appropriately.
