Minx Modes Gray Tweed Cape Capelet Juniors Size 12-13 Vintage 1950s

Vintage 1950s-era short-length cape or capelet from Minx Modes. Fabric is likely a wool blend, but no fabric content tag was found. It is lined in matching gray fabric, possibly rayon or poly, and has toggle style button closures down the front. This is a hard to find casualwear or sportswear piece, what they sometimes called "country clothes." It is 26" in length and 34 1/2" open, flat, one side, across edge to edge (it was likely meant to be worn over a turtleneck or other sweater). The attached size tag states it is a 12-13 (juniors?) It has a gold-tone buckle closure at each side. One of the buckles is loose, as shown (see last four photos). The strap it attaches to needs to be folded over and tacked (sewn or stapled) down so that it won't fall off.
