Miss Bon Jean Shorts (bought in Nice, France)

I bought these when I was in France last year, have never worn them. I don’t know much about the brand or sizes. Says size 40L; which converts to U.S. medium, size 8. I usually wear size 25 or 4 in jeans and they fit me fine, so idk about the 8!? Really cute, just have so many clothes and most of them never worn... just going through everything.
