prettyplease14 @vadajorg well I’m trying to find something that hugs the ceiling a bit. Not too low and definitely doesn’t have to be tight to the wall. I just don’t want something that is 2 feet from the ceiling. It would be for a bedroom. We have a normal light in there now but wanting to replace it with a light/fan.

vadajorg @prettyplease14 4” down rod on 24”. 4.5 “ on 28”. You could order shorter ones from build.com. 4” is pretty close to ceiling. Let me know!!

prettyplease14 Hi again, so just a silly question, but does it have a string to start the fan part or would I have to get a special light switch for it? Also, does it replace any typical light fixture or does it take something specific? Sorry for the questions. :))))

vadajorg @prettyplease14 no worries! They are remote operated. We have the remotes mounted on the wall next to light switch. We leave light switch in on position and operate fans via remote. I’m certainly no electrician but I do love Monte Carlo! They are awesome.

prettyplease14 @vadajorg oh that’s great, ok makes sense. Do you know anything about replacing a normal A typical ceiling light? Have you done that before? Just wondering if it fits most normal ceiling light wires. 😊😊

vadajorg @prettyplease14 yes should be fine. We replaced all of ours with no new wiring. Old ones down new ones up.

prettyplease14 @vadajorg it’s just the fan and not the light and fan correct? so, when you switched out all the ceiling lights for fans, what did you do for lights? Lamps?

vadajorg @prettyplease14 there is a light kit you can buy but I do not have them. In the rooms without fan lights we use lamps. In our new construction we use pick lights in ceiling. Depends on your taste I guess. I’ll go $50 per fan if you want more than 1. I don’t mind switching blades. BUT I’m telling you the whites are the coolest. 😎

My husband is a contractor and I’m a designer. We buy lots and have tons of options. Both fans and fixtures.

vadajorg @prettyplease14 i added pics of the tags and blades for you to check out. ! To me the polished nickel blades look more gray / brushed. I could do polished nickel base with those blades. I still like white! Where are you wanting to put them? I have 28” too. 24” is adorable in right place but it is small.

vadajorg @prettyplease14 kiddos are powerful! I wouldn’t go all the same. I’d probably go stain less in dining room either 24” or 28”. White in bedrooms either 24” or 28” and certainly white in entry. You want to pull eyes I’m not up. Tell me what you’re thinking and I’ll figure it out

prettyplease14 @vadajorg The only problem is that our living room dining room and above our stairs is all one open floor plan. We do have a small house though, but it’s one bigger area. So I worry if I do different colors, they might clash. The kids actually want stainless in their bedroom. So I almost was thinking of reversing what you were thinking and doing white out here in the living room, dining room and above the stairs and then doing stainless in the bedrooms?
