Vintage Morris Tuttle Mansion Watsonville, California
This Queen Anne Victorian was commissioned by Morris Tuttle an Iowan Farmer. It was designed by William Henry and cost $20,000 or about $1,000 per room due to the expensive Hungarian Ash and Arizona Sandstone used in its construction. By the end of the nineteenth century, Queen Anne Victorians began to exhibit the influence of neo-classicism. The Tuttle Mansion displays these influences in its short stocky tower and the Roman columns that line its wraparound porch.
