GORGEOUS plate that is not just a replacement plate for a dinner set, it stands alone all on its own for display or decoration. Not a scratch or a chip on it anywhere, no evidence of ever being used.
From their website:
When the ancient Roman city of Pompeii was unearthed in the early eighteenth century, designers at the time revived classical motifs such as angels and laurel wreaths. Our trumpeting Archangel Gabriel is adapted in porcelain from a rare pattern book dated 1777, now in the collection of Colonial Williamsburg.
Mottahedeh is the recognized leader in luxury ceramic antique reproductions and historic designs.
With an emphasis on hard porcelain faience and stoneware, we license authentic fine china reproductions from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, the Historic Charleston Foundation, Mount Vernon, Winterthur Museum and Gardens and Tony Duquette. We’ve also been commissioned by the White House, the U.S. State Department, and the Diplomatic Corps to production collections used in official state capacity. We offer an incredible collection of timeless fine china dinnerware patterns such as Tobacco Leaf and Blue Canton.
For more than 90 years, Mottahedeh has focused on complex and beautiful colors; unique historic shapes; centuries-old craftsmanship; and an impeccable attention to detail. Founded by Rafi and Mildred Mottahedeh, current owners Wendy and Grant Kvalheim continue to pass down the company’s values and celebration of history through useable art.
