Here's a pair of six lobed Mt. Washington shakers. They feature hand painted daisies with leaves in shades of green. The shakers have hammered metal lids.
Burmese glass was developed by Frederick Shirley at the Mt. Washington Glass Works in New Bedford, Massachusetts, in 1885. It is opaque white with a two-toned background, shading from peach to yellow. Polychrome-enamel floral decorations are added by hand.
Approximate measurements:
1.75 inches tall
2.5 inches diameter
CONDITION
No chips, cracks, or repairs. There is a faded line at the widest part of the shakers--original to the making. The lids no longer come off (unless you know a trick).
