My Old Kentucky Home framed print

Framed Spring My Old Kentucky Home Federal Hill Bardstown Vittitow Initialed. The print is 12”x16”. The frame is 21”x26”. This is Federal Hill, the house made famous by Stephen Foster song, “My Old Kentucky Home.” This print is the spring season print part of the limited edition prints depicting the four seasons at Federal Hill. The artist, CW Vittitow passed away in the mid 1990s. His family sold the remaining prints and destroyed the printing plates after his death. This print is not signed, but initialed. It is professionally framed with double matting. Built by Judge John Rowan early in the 19th century, this house was the home for three generations of one of Kentucky’s most distinguished families. Members of the Rowan family lived on this property from 1801 until 1922, when the house and 235 acres were purchased by the commonwealth of Kentucky. It is now a state park. Stephen Foster was a distant cousin of the Rowan’s.
