My poor little baby has seizures. We finally asked them to run tests to be sure it wasn't something else. Since she is only a year old they concluded before it had to be epilepsy. After being on meds for 3 months she had 6 seizures in a 24 hour period. So first pic is of her right after the tests. It is nothing life threatening like kidney failure or a tumor. That was what we feared. But it is def epilepsy. At least we know for sure now. The other pics are also her.

shari_p @tsaia1977 Ty for that. I am just so weak. It feels like mono. Bad thing is my friends have it n I have been around them. The initial test was neg. But bad thing is it can be false neg in first two wk of symptoms. So basically if I still feel this way next wk then it sux.

mandavais You and me both! I can feel it coming! My nose and throat, ugh I hates it! NYQUIL NYQUIL NYQUIL Alka-Seltzer (oh my lord makes me gag 😝) HOT, hot bath, heating pad and warm blankets and NyQuil and maybe if I feel like it, a book or a tablet with a book 😜 I have the chills so bad, I could crawl into our bedroom heater! I'm actually on the floor with another blankeyyyy and have the foot part covering the heater vent 😌😔 I hate being sick, all I do is sleep and don't wanna eat! Just drink a Boylan cube (chicken!!) and go back to bed. Sorry to go on and on and on, but I understand what your going through lol! We can be sick together! 😷😷. Just hope it's not a stomach virus, that's the WORST !!

shari_p @babscloset No not yet. My new ins plan starts on sun so I will go back to dr on mon n let them do more blood work. Tomorrow will be 2 full wks that I have been sick. Running a fever the whole time w exception of one day last wk n yesterday. 😝

sparklefalls I also have a cat with epilepsy, it's a very scary and heart wrenching thing to witness a seizure. My cat eventually grew out of them and is now seizure free. I hope the same for your kitty!

sparklefalls @shari_p yes, her seizures started getting further and further apart and eventually just stopped. We do keep her away from flashing lights, like from the TV being on in the dark and limited outside time. The light seems to affect her. She hasn't had a seizure in 3 years!

bethjennings @shari_p , have you tried wrapping it in cheese or pill pockets....even crushing it up & put it in. I have worked with animals all my life......just a suggestion. Cats are very sneaky!! 😋

shari_p @bethjennings Yes I have tried everything but the pill pockets. She got to where she would eat her food til she got to the pill n walk away. Then she wouldn't take any food from us, cheese, bacon, nothing cause she knew there was meds in it. Crushing it makes the food bitter so that never worked. But we r thinking of trying the pill packers just in case that will work. Its our last option. Ty for the suggestions tho. N yes, cats r very sneaky!!! Lol!

abstractdreams I have a 16 yr old picky, picky eater & she LOVES pill pockets! My other cat loves them too. I broke a couple up & gave them to her plain, just in case her meds might have a familiar smell & it worked. We also put pills into small bits of skinny cow cheese. Good luck. Hope they figure out the right meds for her. Poor baby.💕

archaicinsane @shari_p im sorrybto hear about your kitty! Do they have her on phenobarbital or something for seizures? I have to medicate pets a lot at the kennel i work at.

shari_p @archaicinsane TY. Yes she is on that with keppra. Seems to have helped. Altho she still has a few once in a while, but its not like the 6 or so a day that really scared us.

lydianon I have three cats that i love more than people :-) I used to have a bf who had seizures, aLOT of them, didnt take his meds. At first it was hard to see it happen, but eventually i was totally used to it, i knew that in fifteen mins he'd be fine. But with a kitty I'd be so sad that i couldnt just hold him and make it all better immediately. Good for you for taking care of your beautiful furry friend >^-.-^<

lanphyy12 I have an English Bulldog with epilepsy. I can tell you it gets better once you have the right medications! He used to have up to 15 grand mal seizures a day. He is down to maybe one or two seizures a month. It gets better just don't forget to love your kitten when she isn't being herself! I hope your kitten gets better! ❤️

blumoose What a sweet face she has🐱❤️ I had a Choc Lab that had epilepsy, with meds he did really well😊 At the same time my Maine Coon developed diabetes & needed insulin shots every day. Pets are expensive, but well worth it🐶❤️🐱 Hope she is doing better!!

shari_p @knitnat Yes she does! It makes her exert so much energy that it just completely wipes her out. She will sleep for a solid couple hours, then eat like she is starving. I just hope that we can continue to afford her meds. Not easy at $40 mo.

chintyta @shari_p my dog used to have seizures and the vets wanted to put her to sleep... I refused and instead I put her in cbd oil .... she never had a seizure again !!! Email me at csmoilis (at) gmail (dot) com for info of what I use if interested !! 😘😘
