Mystery Egg Jewel Cases

If only I knew what these were or where they came from or who produced them. For now I can imagine they came from a dusty old trunk in Aunt Philomena's attic. Maybe she kept a special piece of jewelry in each --- or maybe that can be YOUR use for them :) They are heavy enameled metal. Eggs are black & green. Small egg & Victorian shoe are wine red. The large black egg is a music box which plays a sweet tune I can't identify. SOLD together:)
