NATURAL YELLOW SAPPHIRE .92 Carat Marquise / 9.5x4mm / Not Lab Created / Orange

Yellow sapphires are made of the corundum mineral, and their signature canary yellow color comes from traces of iron. They are mined primarily in Sri Lanka, but can also be found in Madagascar, Tanzania, Australia, and Thailand. Yellow sapphires are the birthstone for September and November, and are traditional for the 5th, 45th, and 75th wedding anniversaries. Yellow sapphire symbolizes abundance and prosperity. It's also well-known as a source of wisdom and protection from harm. This amazing natural sapphire has a beautiful yellow coloring with a hint of orange and sparkles like crazy. It measures 9.5 x 4mm and weighs .92 carats - big enough for a solitaire. As with most natural sapphires, it has a few flaws. As you can see from the photo of the back, there is a lighter area on the bottom left of the stone - this is called ‘zoning’. It is not apparent when looking at the sapphire from the front. There is also an inclusion near one of the tips (see photo) which is only apparent when using a magnifier.
