The straps are very long strings so that you can customize how you want the back to look, it is a stunning soft silky dress and very versatile. You can dress it up for a formal event or wear it for something more casual !I bought it for a wedding, but it was too long for me, for reference I am under 5 feet. The dress has never been worn.
