stephmorgan9233 @madi_rn yes The older chalcedony is brighter and has a slight blueish tint. The newer version is a little more “celery”.

colormebold @madi_rn oh helpful thanks! So follow up question then! Mint quartz v mint glass? I have a mint glass harlow and recent bought a mint quartz cuff but it looks a bit greener! Thoughts?

stephmorgan9233 The depth of the stone in the lighter colored stones can make them look a little different but the hue will be the same. See pic above.

colormebold @stephmorgan9233 i gotcha! Any insight on mint glass v mint quartz? Or is the mint quartz the same as the peridot quartz in your pic?

mtex37 @colormebold omg the aqua danielle stone is beautiful! Well, now I really want a pair 😂 this is super helpful though!! Thank you for telling me! It looks like there’s a difference between older and newer versions for sure

stephmorgan9233 @colormebold The correct names of the stones are in that pic above and are the same stone. “Quartz” and glass were used interchangeably in the early Kendra days according to my contact who worked there.

stephmorgan9233 There are 2 “mints” but they are the mint translucent glass and mint magnesite. Seafoam is a descriptor for the chalcedony (green) that is often used.

colormebold @stephmorgan9233 hmm okay my mint glass might just be a bit faded or naturally lighter than the cuff I bought! Thanks for the insight!

stephmorgan9233 @colormebold Likely a vendor change. Gilt Groupe pieces (the most sought after vintage pieces usually) are often just a bit different yet the same stone as they were limited additions and fabricated in smaller, separate factory runs according to my research. I have some marketing pics somewhere that I can post later.

colormebold @stephmorgan9233 ah that make sense!! Before I got my mint glass harlow I was trying to make one and I had three separate pieces all sold as mint glass but none of the stones matched lol.🤷‍♀️

stephmorgan9233 @colormebold I am having that same issue with plum jade and iolite quartz “Frankensteined” Harlows I am making. The sizes are slightly different due to vendor batches. The plight of the Harlow addict is real. Lol

colormebold @stephmorgan9233 the jades are crazy hard especially since they fade so easily!! I made some sort of jade a while a back and I still dont know what color it is lol. I used KS studio harlow sized stones but the pieces were just sold as “pink necklace” or “jade necklace” so no real insight there lol.

stephmorgan9233 @colormebold I can’t comment on your posts (blocked) but I agree with Jen. Those are 2 different versions of chalcedony. Vendor differences and collection years have resulted in some slight shade variations in the stones. The bluer the green the earlier the stone was released.

colormebold @stephmorgan9233 what thats weird!! Its not showing that your blocked on my end! I just added a picture of my mint glass and they mint quartz cuff I got and the look totally different! Wanted to get your thoughts on the color!

colormebold @stephmorgan9233 I just added another picture from my friend who worked at Kendra back in the day! She said they were the same and the mint glass/quartz was more meant to look like my Harlow. They would often have to do QC checks on the stones because they wouldn’t come in consistent stones that didn’t match could be tossed or slipped into a cuff or something! She sent me a screen shot of a QC picture they used back in 2013!

stephmorgan9233 @colormebold I have thoughts on the tangerine piece but I can’t comment on the post. I think the new necklace is a limited sample piece that didn’t end up being chosen for the collection.
