Moriage Nippon is a type of Japanese porcelain decoration that uses a technique called moriage, which involves applying liquid clay or enamel to create a raised, textured surface. A period in Japanese history that lasted from 1891–1921. Nippon items were often exported and were known for their stylized decorations and gilding.
This elegant single antique salt shaker is entirely hand decorated with sweet pink roses and raised moriage designs. It measures 2.75 inches tall by 2.5 inches wide and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The old cork in the bottom has seen better days but could be easily replaced.
