NWT 1950's DESIGNER VINTAGE ORANGE FELT/FEATHER HAT + STUDDED BOW + DOTTED VEIL

From an estate sale: This is a stunning vintage hat which was never worn by its previous owner. The beautiful orange felt hat consists of a round crown completely covered in a beautiful pattern made up of small feathers. Around the crown there is a wide beige grosgrain band that ends in a bow at one side. the grosgrain is studded with black beads. There is also a beige dotted veil on top of the feathers, and around the crown. This is a stunning piece of history! Label and original price of $185 are still attached, and the designer is MR. JOHN Classic - New York Paris John P. John was an American milliner. According to the New York Times, "in the 1940s and 1950s, the name Mr. John was as famous in the world of hats as Christian Dior was in the realm of "haute couture". This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
