All dolls have the date, designer initials, production #, some even have a name. This information can be found either on the back of the neck or on the bottom of the foot. None of the dolls have the certificates/original tags, as all were pre-owned. However, Baby A is personally signed by Mr. Naber (I do not have an authentication on this statement and this is only based on research and comparing signatures found on another signed doll that I came to this conclusion) on the undergarment of the doll, stating 'To Janet H.P. Naber 7 30 99'.
Harald Naber, a German-born doll maker who created the Naber dolls in Alaska and Florida. In 1970, Naber carved a doll out of a 4x4 and covered it in reindeer fur. He called it "Big Nuni". The dolls became known for their attitude and personality, and many people called them ugly. Mr. Naber eventually moved from Alaska to Homosassa, Florida in 1986. The dolls sold well nationwide and were featured on Home Shopping Club, which led to a surge in sales. Mr. Naber stopped making Naber Kids dolls in 2005, but they remain popular with collectors. Vintage Handcrafted Naber Kids Doll are made from wood chips blended with a clear resin. Naber hand-detailed each doll and put his initials on them. The dolls are known for their individuality, which comes from the different grain patterns of wood and the differences in hand detailing.
