joy1p @johnmbecker85 Thank you for your comment. The original post was for only the tie for $250. I added the box and pocket square. I’m researching now to see how many were made, but I believe it was only a few which makes the set rare. If you pop over to Kehinde Wiley’s online shop, scarves are available for $275-350. If I see another tie in your price range, I’ll share the whereabouts with you. It is a beautiful tie, I hope you find one.

johnmbecker85 @joy1p Thank you so much for your response! I actually purchased this tie as a gift from the National Portrait Gallery in December 2020, but they had to cancel and refund the order because of pandemic-related supply chain issues. It never came back into stock, so I've been looking for one ever since. The listed price for the tie on my emailed receipt from the Smithsonian is $59.99 (I wish this site allowed me to include a screenshot so you know I'm not bluffing!). (1/2)

johnmbecker85 @joy1p ...So $180 is 3x that amount ($300% markup above the listed price, which seems fair/decent with both inflation and the scarcity of the item (factoring in that it's also pre-worn). With the addition of the pocket square, I'd be willing to do a similar markup that brings the total to around the $300 range. But that's why $500 seems like an excessively high price for this item. Not trying to disrespect by nickeling/diming you (I really do want the item too!) and... (whoops, actually 2/3)

And who knows, maybe you'll still want to list it for the higher price; I just wanted to let you know where I was coming from so you didn't think I was trying to disrespect, and/or to see if there was any flexibility on your end.
