The Origins of Heishi and Liquid Silver
The Santo Domingo Indians, whose pueblo is located about 35 miles south of historic Santa Fe, New Mexico, have been recognized as the creators of Heishi (He-she). Originally they used many different types of shell and turquoise which were drilled with a small hand pump dril, rubbed smooth on sandstone, and then individually strung together.
Today, Liquid Silver is a contemporary interpretation of traditional heishi.
It is called "Liquid Silver'" because of the smoothly flowing, watery effect the silver creates. The sterling silver heishi is made by drawing small ribbons of sterling through a "drawplate" and forming tiny tubes of silver. This tubing is then cut to identical 1/16" pieces and strung individually.
Possibly vintage as I got these from an estate with other vintage pieces
