Lovely artwork featuring three Native American young women in beautiful shades of blue, purple, and gray! The mat is a pale peach and the frame is a mint/light turquoise. The print is signed So Whu Wa Tung (artist's cipher) and "Wintercourt" embossed in lower left on the mat.
The artist, Michelle Tsosie Naranjo, is a Native American artist of the Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico. Her paintings have won many awards and are exhibited in the United States and Europe.
"My paintings express the spirituality and sensitivity of the Pueblo people. The role of traditional and contemporary women in Indian society is very in portant to me. Their bond to the Earth Mother ensures the growth and prosperity of the tribe."
Naranjo's work is in the permanent collection of the Heard Museum and she has won several First place awards at the Santa Fe Indian Market, as well as the Patrick Swazo Hinds Memorial Award for the most Promising Painter in 1981.
