The is a vintage Native American San Juan pottery bowl, likely from the Ohkay Owingeh (San Juan) Pueblo in New Mexico.
It is made of hand-built and hand-carved micaceous clay, with a stone-polished base and rim.
The bowl features deeply carved geometric designs, characteristic of San Juan pottery, and is painted with traditional colors.
The "San Juan Revival" style emerged
in the 1930s and maybe have been a creation of Dominguita Sisneros
or Rosita De Herrera.
Such pottery holds cultural importance, reflecting the artistry and traditions of the Native American Tribes.
There are some vintage scuffs as it was used to contain small items. There are NO CRACKS OR CHIPS.
Similar bowls, 2" bigger, are selling for hundreds of dollars.
If you collect Native pottery, this is a nice addition. I have several regional pieces from different tribes in my closet for sale. Check them out if interested.
