Native American Santo Domingo Spiny Oyster Turquoise Heishi Necklace Vintage

Incredible Authentic mid century Santo Domingo spiny oyster shell pendant heishi bead necklace. The Santo Domingo Jewelry represents the American Pueblo Tribe, and it is one of the oldest Native American Tribes in America. Their jewelry is widely sought after for its use of Spiny Oyster Shells with inlay and hand rolled heishi beads. This statement piece, circa 1950s or prior, is decorated with inlaid turquoise of magnificent blues, jet, and white shell. The beautiful and colorful shell comes to life at the center of the hand rolled heishi beaded necklace, with silver hook closure. The length of the necklace measures around 18" The pendant measures over 3" There are two chips on either side of the jet pieces and possibly some small turquoise may be missing. Otherwise the condition is excellent for it's age. X- listed
