Native American Turquoise and Sterling Silver Bolo Tie. This bolo belonged to the husband of my 96 year old friend. He acquired it in the 1980's, during the height of bolo wear in NM. The couple moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1950 and was very familiar with quality Native American jewelry. The bolo is stamped JW., and most likely it is Navajo. There is no sterling silver mark; therefore, I took it to a jeweler to verify it is sterling silver, which it is. The tips at the end of the black leather cord are also sterling. The sterling/turquoise piece measures 2 1/2" long and 1 3/4" wide at the top and narrows to 1 1/2" wide at the base. The length of the piece is 18" from neck to the end of the silver tips.
