Size 6, natural blue star sapphire & startling silver ring—may be heat-treated or diffusion-treated (or no treatments). Dark blue—photos show a variety of lighting, from overhead to flash; floating 6-ray star shows best in flash. Star is visible but occurs over growth patterns so appears broken/spread over gem. Uneven back and grown lines typical of this gemstone. Approx. 10 mm x 8 mm. Displays asterism effect from natural inclusions—a magical-looking gem! Lightly worn. Questions welcome!

33isa Hi... does it have the silver hallmark stamp? so, the stone is not "cracked" correct, it's just the effect of the natural star? thank you!

ksshop @life1825 Thank you for your asking—it is possible that these are cracks in the stone; I attached a photo of another bezel-set, star sapphire that I wear daily and it hasn’t cracked further. On the ring for sale, I think it could be natural cracks or growth lines in the stone, but I can’t tell if it’s the natural stone’s formation or not.

ksshop @life1825 I had the same questions as you when I purchased it, so priced accordingly. It’s a beautiful blue stone that I would wear but it’s a little too small for my pinky. I’m about to post another star sapphire ring that does not have any possible cracks and will tag you there in case it’s interesting! ☺️

ksshop @life1825 It is stamped 925–faintly, but it’s there. I attached another photo under a jeweler’s loupe of the surface crack/growth lines.
