Nautical Cocktail Glass

Nautical cocktail glass etched with Plimsoll Marks and Load Lines. Glass is approximately 3.5" tall and 3.2" wide. The cup can hold 10 fluid ounces and weighs about 11 ounces. Plimsoll Marks and Load Lines have increased the safety of shipping since Samuel Plimsoll started fighting for these marks that bear his name in the 1870s. Load Lines show the maximum depth that a ship can be loaded to depending on the different densities of the water the ship will be sailing in or conditions it might face on its voyage. The letters stand for TF = Tropical Fresh, F = Fresh, T = Tropical (sea water), S = Summer (temperate sea water), W = Winter (winter temperate sea water), and WNA = Winter North Atlantic.
