Was this ever placed in dryer? I read on site you should size down do you feel that is true?

Great questions! This one was never in a dryer. That said, I have with other Hill House dresses with no problem so you most likely could with no issues. For the Athena and Ellie I go with a size small even though I'm typically a medium in most all clothes so I do agree with the website - I believe it's because of the smocking that we can size down! Happy to answer any other questions you may have.
