Navy Short Sleeved Midi Dress w/ Tiny White Flowers & Dropped Waist - 1950s - M Assymetrical Sleeve Treatment - one has a tie on the side, the other doesn't. Wide neckline. Dropped waistline w/ piping where it joins to skirt in a V shape is self-fabric belted at natural waist. Very full mid calf length skirt. Wide shoulders & full skirt emphasize small waist. Exaggerating an hourglass silhouette. Fabric looks like a polished cotton - no tags - but is coated on back side wi/something that gives it substance & body giving the material an expensive look. Metal zipper in back. Front neckline overlaps in the center so I added a circular silver & crystal brooch in some of the pictures - it looks great & is included in the listing. This is a beautiful mid-century high fashion dress worthy of Vogue magazine! Mrs. Maisel would have worn it gladly! Kimono-style sleeves are cut in one piece w/ bodice - this means no seam to set sleeves in. Thus shoulders extend directly into the sleeves. Measurements: Bust is 18.5" flat, Waist 14", Hips are Free. Length of dress from shoulder to hem is 43" Condition is very good. Dress has been professionally dry cleaned & is ready to wear. There is one flaw. Navy Blue dyes were not always fixed & could fade when exposed to light. This dress was stored in a dark closet but has faded very slightly at the top of the sleeves - It is not obvious & does not really detract - doesn't show in pics. Priced accordingly.
