Unlike freshwater pearls, which use Hyriopsis cumingi to grow them, the Edison pearl grows alone. This, as well as a perfectly spherical implant nucleus, allows it to reach a diameter of 16 mm, an unprecedented size for freshwater pearls. this is a very durable and beautiful antique. Edison is a trusted brand. these pearls in particular are VERY rare now because the mussels used to grow them are now extinct. feel free to do some googling to verify ☺️
