katielady1982 @amashopper I just tagged a friend so she could see this. I thought she might like it. I have her username memorized. If you'd like to tag someone, just put an @ before their user name and they will receive a notification ❤

cubythesea I'm interested in this necklace but wondered if you could see what the stamping on the back of the decorative metal pieces said? I see that you believe this is sterling because the metal tarnishes, but that can happen with silver plate as well. The stamps on the back make me wonder if it is silver, or perhaps even pewter. Very interesting piece.

amashopper @cubythesea Hi and thanks for your interest. I don’t see anything written in the back of the medallions. There’s a small bar stamped in the metal. I’m going to a jewelry store tomorrow and will ask them if they can detect the metal type. I posted another photo of the back.

cubythesea @amashopper I thought I had sent a reply last night, but am not seeing it, so will reply again to you... I'll be very interested to hear any new information after your trip to the jewelry store... I think this is a lovely piece and it might make a very nice gift for someone I know!

amashopper Ok - So the lady at the jewelry store used her glass and said there is no identifying metal type mark which she said is unusual. She said the tarnish comes off with a silver cloth therefore she believes its silver.

amashopper P.S. she said she thinks the black beads are black onyx.

amashopper @cubythesea hi - not sure if you saw my responses - also, would it help if I weighed it? I have a small kitchen scale. The jewelry store lady said she didn’t have the kit to test it at the store and they were busy so she could only guess and believed it’s silver. Hope you had a good Saturday!

cubythesea @amashopper Hi! I'm so sorry! I've been gone all day and I had not gotten any notification that you had messaged until now! Okay... so as to the necklace... I'm interested in that it seems to be a very nice design... Are you open to an offer, since we can't seem to determine the metal content? Thank you for all of your efforts to find out further information!

amashopper @cubythesea Hello! Well, I told her I was selling it and she thought $35 was more than reasonable. I can tell you I paid close between $70 and $90 years ago. It’s a quality piece of jewelry. This is not a mass produced item.
