New in open box and unpunched. Never played. Military simulation magazine game from Against the Odds. See photos for details.
"Circle of Fire: The Siege of Cholm, 1942" is a board game designed by Michael Rinella and published by Against the Odds Magazine. The game focuses on the Siege of Cholm, a significant battle during World War II where German forces defended the town of Cholm against the Soviet 3rd Shock Army.
The game uses an updated version of the low-complexity area-impulse system first used in the award-winning Avalon Hill classic "Storm Over Arnhem". Players take on the roles of the German defenders and the Soviet attackers. The German side has the advantage of the town's defenses and air support, while the Soviet side has more troops, stronger artillery, and armor.
The game includes a full-size area map produced from aerial photographs and situational maps, along with 176 large counters. It also features a "sudden death" mechanism to end turns unpredictably, adding an element of tension and unpredictability to the gameplay.
