New Vintage B&L Ray-Ban Caribbean 48 Small Wayfarer 1950’s Sunglasses + Case

New old stock (NOS). Never worn. Slight imperfections from 70 years of storage. Rare 50s model predates modern Wayfarer style. True vintage B&L Ray-Ban Bausch & Lomb USA sunglasses circa 1950’s. Made in USA. Vinyl padded slip case. Size 48 refers to lens width. This is the smaller of the two sizes (52 and 48) of Caribbeans produced. Caribbean 48 is unisex, but be mindful of its smaller size. This pair has a modification. Temples are Chad model and are priced accordingly. They are the same colorway as the face frame. Mineral glass lenses. G15 content density dark gray green. Pure optical glass ground and polished to precision-optics standards. There may be hairline (short and light) scratches and/or pinpricks from storage. Right lens has a small 2-3mm area of short light pinprick scratches. Not visible to onlookers. Did not obstruct my vision. Pre-B&L etching, non-prescription and ready for wear with 100% UV protection. Espresso acetate is a neutral brown that picks up gray and silver tones in some lighting conditions and khaki and golden brown tones in others. Pearl shimmer in the acetate that is similar to that of car paint. The inside of right temple is impressed B&L Ray-Ban U.S.A. The inside of left temple is impressed CHAD. Screws are removable. Hinges work well. Minor hairline scratches to acetate frame. Right temple is a bit more curved than the left. An optician can adjust for you.
