@misspos Hi, yes the heel is approx. 3.5 inches. They are not real leather, but the exterior has a soft leather feel to it but the material at the leg is very pliable and not stiff.
The opening was hard to get an accurate read on diameter, but I got approximately 6 inches across, maybe a bit less. If it helps, when wearing them the boots hit the biggest part of my mid calf which is approximately 15 inches around with plenty of extra room.
