This piece will take me 17 dollars in bubble wrap to get it to you safely! This is a wonderful, six -sided, antique Nippon platter bowl, nut, candy or trinket dish. It features an elaborate, hand painted design featuring gold gilt and moriage. It has a gold and pistachio green fern-like border with vine-like connections. As with any hand painted item there are imperfections that add to the piece's charm, and you can see where the design is not perfectly executed/symmetrical. Especially on the adorable bottom, this 1920s dish has a 3 sphere stem and painted with gold dots. This piece is a 1/1 The trinket dish is about 9" in diameter and 2” deep. It bears the 1/4" maple leaf manufacturer's mark, which is dated 1891-1921. Odds are that this was made before 1920 so I feel comfortable calling it antique. Considering its age of about 100 years, it is in excellent condition with one minor utensil scratch, but no crazing or chips. There is minor surface and paint/gild wear suitable to its age.
